Are Your Looking to Make a Difference in One Day?

Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg 2019 James City County Home Repair Blitz

James City County, Habitat for Humanity of the Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, and Housing Partnerships have joined forces to help homeowners make repairs to the exterior of their homes to improve the entire neighborhood. Homeowners eligible for help qualify based on age, disability or income requirements.

The one-day James City County Home Repair Blitz will happen on Saturday, Sept. 7, in the Forest Glen neighborhood. Volunteers are needed to participate in projects like outdoor painting, replacing hand rails, power washing, debris removal and minor exterior repairs. No skill is necessary to volunteer.

The Blitz will also need a number of skilled volunteers to work as Team Leaders to organize and oversee the work at each repair site. A Team Leader orientation will take place on Tuesday, July 16 at 6 p.m. at the Human Services Center, 5249 Olde Towne Road.

All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, lunch, and will make an impact on the lives of people in James City County. Those interested in volunteering in any capacity should call Habitat Director of Volunteer Engagement Mimi Mitchell at 757-913-5652.
