***Update - During the early morning hours, Portsmouth Police Department confirmed with JCC Police that Ms. Pate had returned home and was safe.
Charlotte Pate was reported missing earlier today after visiting Busch Gardens on July 1 with a friend. She had reportedly left the area on foot at approximately 2 p.m. and had not been seen since. Ms. Pate suffers from a cognitive impairment and medical conditions that pose a credible threat to her health and safety.
Several sightings of Ms. Pate were reported today including on the I-64 on ramp at Lee Hall and in Portsmouth. Since then, the reports of her safe return in Portsmouth have been deemed unsubstantiated. So again, we are again asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.
Ms. Pate is a 50-year-old white female, and she is missing her two front teeth. She was last seen wearing a short sleeve, pink Ralph Lauren shirt with blue/black jogging pants, multi-colored tennis shoes and carrying a black back pack.
If you have seen Ms. Pate, please contact James City County Police at 757-566-0112.
