[ARCHIVED] Feb. 24 Declared Engineers' Day in James City County

Board of Supervisors Chairman James O. Icenhour Jr has signed a Proclamation declaring the week of Feb. 18-24 to be Engineers' Week and the day of Feb. 24, to be Engineers' Day in James City County.

The Proclamation came at the request of the Peninsula Engineers' Council whose purpose is to coordinate efforts in furthering engineering education and to increase the interest in the engineering profession. Each year, in conjunction with National Engineers Week, the Peninsula Engineers' Council strives to bring to the attention of the public and engineering community the contribution of engineers in the Peninsula area by selecting, recognizing and awarding the Peninsula Engineer of the Year and the “Doug Ensor Award”.

Chairman Icenhour issued the Proclamation in support and in recognition of the Engineering Professionals in our community.
