James City County is pleased to invite County businesses and organizations to post jobs on the new Hampton Roads Veterans Career Compass (HR VCC). HR VCC is a website and service of the Hampton Roads Workforce Foundation, the charitable arm of the Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC) and the Greater Peninsula Workforce Board (GPWB).
Businesses and organizations may set up an account by visiting veteranscareercompass.org. Prior to entering jobs, businesses must request an employer account and then be approved. It is vital that after creating an account that employers set the status field as “active,” so that jobs may be visible to job seekers.
All businesses and organizations in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area with a valid Federal Employer Identification Number are eligible to participate. Businesses do not have to be headquartered in Hampton Roads, but they must have a local presence.
Once an account is created, businesses and organizations can add details to their employer profile, setup additional users and assign roles and add events such as job fairs.
HR VCC is being funded primarily through a grant from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. The HR VCC aims to provide greater services to military-connected job-seekers and the area employers who seek to hire more veterans.
HR VCC invites military connected job seekers to set up an account and use the platform to explore careers, search and apply for jobs, connect with employer representatives as well as make use of employment related services offered by the HRCW.
