Class meets at the James City County Recreation Center on the first day
- Includes First Aid and CPR certification
- Must attend and pass a swim test on first day of class: 300-yard continuous swim (100 yards of front crawl, 100 yards of breaststroke and 100 yards of choice of front crawl or breaststroke). Retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of 7-8 feet and return 20 yards, keeping both hands on the brick at all times; face must remain out of the water. Tread water for two minutes keeping arms out of the water.

Need to sign up for Before/After School programs? The REC Connect program is open to youth ages 5-14, enrolled in grades K-8. One registration packet may be used for both the Before & After School 2018-2019 and Summer Camp 2019 programs. Registrations accepted on a first-come, first-served basis according to postmark date and space availability. This nationwide program is a fun way to lace up the basketball shoes and test your skills against other local players! The competition consists of a one minute timed drill and shots from multiple, pre-determined locations around the court. The top three participants in each age group are eligible to move on to the regional tournament and from there to an all-expense paid trip to the skills challenge championships! Aging date for each participant is their age on Aug. 31, 2019, not their current age. *Preregistration is highly recommended as spaces are limited.
