Parks & Recreation Program and Facility Discounts Available to Qualified Residents

DiscountProgram_Flash

James City County Parks & Recreation offers a Discount Assistance Program to James City County and Williamsburg residents who meet the program qualifications and submit an application. The program allows citizens who qualify to benefit from many of the department offerings including the “Before and After School Program” and annual passes to the James City County Recreation Center and the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center. Discounts also include some Parks & Recreation partner programs available at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC) and the City of Williamsburg’s Quarterpath Park facility.

Program discounts - 20%, 50% or 75% - are determined by the annual gross income before taxes and the number of residents in a household. Income is defined as any money or cash equivalents received through work or through investments including, but not limited to, earnings, salary, pay, wages, goods or services, or from rents, capital interest or profits.

Residents who qualify for the Social Services Food Stamp program and earn an income are automatically eligible; their application must include proof of public assistance - Food Stamps, SNAP Notice of Action Form, and any changes in SNAP benefits.

For more information on the program, including specific income eligibility requirements, necessary documentation and a downloadable application form, go to Discount Assistance Program available from the registration link on the Parks & Recreation homepage. Applications and required documentation can be submitted in person at either the James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road or at the Abram Frank Jr. Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trail during facility operating hours. By mail, please send to James City County Parks & Recreation, Discount Assistance Program, 5320 Palmer Lane, Suite 2A, Williamsburg, VA, 23188.

Once submitted, the application process may take from 10-14 days after receipt of all materials. Only one application per household is permitted and only James City County and Williamsburg residents are eligible for this program.
