James City County is pleased to announce that a new memory care facility, Clare Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care at Chambrel Williamsburg celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting. The new 32-bed memory care facility opened as an expansion of Chambrel Williamsburg, a Brookdale Senior Living Community that features independent and assisted living options with a variety of amenities. Chambrel is located at 3800 Treyburn Dr. and opened in 1986.
The new facility is nearly 25,000 square feet on the existing 51 acres owned by Brookdale Senior Living Communities. The investment made by Brookdale was over $6 million. Brookdale owns or operates over 1,100 senior living communities in 47 states.
Brookdale’s Alzheimer’s and dementia care communities are specially designed living spaces where associates provide supportive environments and safe engagement activities for residents with dementia so they can lead a purposeful life. “We design activities around their interests so they can be successful in daily life,” said Kelly Scott, vice president of dementia care for Brookdale. “Making sure residents have daily moments of success can ward off depression that often accompanies dementia and can aggravate its symptoms.” As a leading provider of Alzheimer’s and dementia care in the United States, Brookdale is committed to meet the growing demand for senior living by embracing the latest research and adapting to meet needs of the country’s growing senior population.
