[ARCHIVED] An Insider’s Guide to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Have you been to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Williamsburg? We hope so, but if you haven’t here is our insider’s guide to what’s new in 2018 and the things you won’t want to miss.

What’s New for 2018

  • It’s the tenth anniversary of Christmas Town and what better way to celebrate than with 10 million lights.
  • The Christmas Town Express! Sing along to your favorite holiday songs on this 1.5-mile tour through themed holiday vignettes and two million stunning Christmas lights.
  • Projection mapping for Christmas Town will occur every 15 minutes on the Wilkommen Haus near the carousel in the Germany area of the park.

  • Christmas Town has extended their season for 2018. The park is open on select days beginning Nov. 17 through Jan. 5.
  • Just because the sun is still shining doesn’t mean you shouldn’t head on over to Christmas Town. The early hours are a great time to watch shows and guarantee your day of fun won’t be hindered by traffic.
  • Buy the refillable cocoa cup. It is 100% worth it. That cocoa is simply delicious!

Our Favorites

  • Three words: Skillet Cookie Depot. You won’t want to miss a warm cookie or brownie from this sweet spot in England across from the Globe Theater.
  • Stop by Holiday Hills and meet Rudolph and Friends or enjoy an immersive movie experience. We loved taking photos with Yukon Jack last year!
  • We love taking the kids to Santa’s Fireside Feast.
  • We love doing our holiday shopping at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It’s a surefire way to make sure there aren’t any gift repeats! They have a great shopping guide on their website. There’s something for everyone on your gift list.
    • Bonus tip: Take the kids to Caribou Pottery to paint a special gift for grandparents. They have mugs, figurines and more available and will even ship it directly to your out-of-town relatives.
