Join us for the family-oriented and environmentally focused James RiverFest, an event celebrating and building advocacy for the James River. The James River is a major tributary to the Chesapeake Bay, known for its environmental and cultural significance to our region. The festival is Saturday, Sept. 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jamestown Beach Event Park. Featured are hands-on educational activities for children, interpretive paddles hosted by the James River Association, beach seining with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, presentations on how to reduce waste and improve water quality through innovative designs, entertainment, concessions and more.
