On June 26, a Newport News resident reported to JCC Police that his residence in Newport News was burglarized sometime around June 1. Because his home had been ransacked, he hadn’t noticed that checks had been stolen until one of the checks was forged and deposited into an account at a bank in James City County. The funds were later withdrawn by a third party. The check was made out for $505. Surveillance photos captured the individual that withdrew the funds.
