[ARCHIVED] The Flipping Flea Opens

The Flipping Flea

James City County is pleased to announce that The Flipping Flea held a ribbon cutting and grand opening for their space at 6927 Richmond Road. The new business has 4,300 square feet of indoor flea market and specialty shops. The Flipping Flea has more than 23 individual vendors and allows craftspeople and entrepreneurs to have their own retail space. Nancy Lee owns The Flipping Flea.

A sample of the current shops inside The Flipping Flea include:

  • The Candy Store by Wythe Candy - An outlet candy store from the owners of Wythe Candy & Gourmet,
  • Always a Happy Hour - Unique and funny party accessories,
  • Fabulous Finds & Accessories - Homemade goods, nautical items and more,
  • Katie’s Girls - Custom pallet signs and furniture,
  • Janey’s Treasures - Vintage glassware and jewelry and
  • Her Team - Sports apparel for girls, volleyball, basketball, soccer and more.

“I am thrilled to open The Flipping Flea on Richmond Road and offer a unique indoor flea market to locals and visitors, but I’m very excited about being able to offer boutique retail space for small businesses,” said Lee, who has retail experience and worked the festival circuit as a vendor. “I understand the challenges of large rent payments and want to help retailers overcome that.”

The Flipping Flea allows vendors to be present at their booths or have items purchased at a centralized cashier. On weekends, The Flipping Flea hosts an outdoor flea market weather permitting.

The new business is almost at capacity and has just a few smaller spaces available for lease. The Flipping Flea can accommodate up to 30 vendors.
