On Wednesday evening, April 21, James City County Police arrested Rashad Fits Byrd, 27 of Sand Drive West and charged him with possession with intent to distribute more than a 1/4 ounce but less than 5 pounds of marijuana following a search of his residence in James City County.
At 9 p.m. on April 21, members of the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force and the JCCPD SWAT team executed a search warrant on a home in the 200 block of Sand Drive West. As a result, police seized approximately a pound and a half of marijuana and over $14,000 in cash. Byrd was released from the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on a $4,000 secured bond. The Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force is made up of seven agencies in six jurisdictions, which include the Virginia State Police, James City County Police Department, York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, Poquoson Police Department, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, Matthews County Sheriff’s Office and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
