[ARCHIVED] Police Respond to Bank Robbery

Chesapeake Bank Robbery suspect


At just after 3:30 p.m. today, James City County Police responded to the Chesapeake Bank at 6619 Richmond Road to a reported armed robbery. The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money and implying that he had a gun. The suspect is described as an unshaven black male, 6 feet tall, wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a gray baseball hat. He is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old. The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash in an unknown vehicle in an unknown direction

Callers to the Crime Line may remain anonymous, do not have to testify in court and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest.
