[ARCHIVED] Alliance on Violence Against Women to Host Historic Triangle Conference on Violence Against Women

Historic Triangle Conference on Violence Against Women

On Sept. 21 and 22, James City County Colonial Community Corrections’ Alliance on Violence Against Women (AVAW) will host the Historic Triangle Conference on Violence Against Women at Great Wolf Lodge. The purpose of the conference is to offer the most up-to-date, relevant professional training regarding crimes committed against women.

This year’s focus: The Upstander...It's More Than You Think, is a call across our communities to "stop bystanding" and to begin standing-up for the numerous victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault. Upstanders recognize that every person plays a role in preventing crimes against women.

This year's training agenda will include two days of issues related to the coordinated community response, advocacy, sexual assault, race awareness and more.
