On Oct. 10, James City County Police hosted a Shred-A-Thon at the Williamsburg/James City County Courthouse to benefit the Department’s Shop With a Cop program. Pictured are members of JCC Police Department, JCC Police Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) and Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff’s Office that assisted with the event. More than 10,000 pounds of paper was shredded filling the Stealth Shredding truck before noon. The success of this event is two-fold in that shredding documents helps to fight identity theft and it assists local, underprivileged youth through Shop With a Cop. The Department appreciates the support of the community in making this event a huge success year after year.
