James City County neighborhoods, homeowners associations, businesses, clubs and stormwater management facility owners have until Jan. 8, 2016 to apply for the County’s Clean Water Heritage Grant Program.
The program, sponsored by the Stormwater Program Advisory Committee, provides financial support to volunteer water quality restoration and protection projects. The program has three categories for applicants to consider:
• Stormwater Management Improvements Grants are designed to encourage qualified organizations to enhance structural components of existing BMPs or to add new BMPs that will help improve our water quality.
• Non-Routine BMP Maintenance Assistance Grants are designed to encourage qualified organizations to maintain stormwater facilities in order to prevent infrastructure failure, while helping maintain or restore our water quality.
• Stormwater Facility Inspection Grants are designed to aid BMP owners in the inspection and maintenance plans of their facility.
The grant awards range from $300 to $2,000 per project.
