1. When do I vote?
Polls in James City County will be open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.
2. What if I need to vote absentee?
The deadline to apply to vote absentee by mail is Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. You can apply in person at the Voter Registration and Elections Office, 101-E Mounts Bay Rd. or online.
The last day to vote absentee in person is Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 from 9 am.-5 p.m. at the Voter Registration and Elections Office, 101-E Mounts Bay Rd.
The deadline for returning your ballot by mail is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.

3. Where do I vote?
Your voter information card will tell you which election district you live in and what precinct you should go to in order to cast your vote. You can also look up your polling place and other related information online.
4. Do I need to bring ID?
Voters are required to show an acceptable form of photo identification at their precinct. Acceptable forms of photo ID include a Virginia DMV-issued driver’s license, a U.S. passport, a student photo ID from a college or university located in Virginia or a government-issued photo ID. Voters who do not have one of these forms of photo ID are eligible for a free Virginia Voter Photo ID Card. More information is available online.
5. Who is on the ballot?
All five James City County districts will be voting for Constitutional Officers, members of the Virginia House and Senate, and Soil & Water Conservation District Directors. Voters in the Berkeley, Roberts and Stonehouse districts will also be voting for members of the Board of Supervisors and School Board. Sample ballots can be found online.
