Get a head start on summer at the annual Destination Recreation Expo, set for Saturday, Feb. 25, 9 a.m. to noon at the James City County Recreation Center. Come meet County recreation staff and your local sports, programming and recreation partners! Discover your parks and facilities, learn about various classes and programs offered throughout the year and be one of the first to register for upcoming summer camps! Informational booths, interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities are just a few great features of this event. All ages are welcome! We’ll keep your children engaged while you gather information about camp opportunities, sports, outdoor and  aquatic programs, special events, parks and facilities, REC Connect, inclusion/therapeutic programs and activities offered through our affiliate organizations. 

Expo activities feature cook your own s’mores, seeding/planting projects, how to make your own bird feeder and much more! Scheduled demonstrations include dog handling at events, fitness demos including Zumba and kids yoga, ballroom dancing, therapeutic drumming and a variety of art offerings such as oil painting and pastels and specialty classes including Silverpoint and Amazing Designs.
