There are a variety of indoor activities for t he whole family during the winter months in James City County. 

1. Jamestown Settlement makes a perfect excursion for the family. Explore the indoor galleries of the museum and if the weather is okay, you can also explore the outdoor exhibits.
2. Learn about the history of music in Virginia at the Virginia Musical Museum. Complete with a variety of pianos, phonographs and organs, there is much to learn including seeing the 1790 Joshua Shudi harpsichord – one of two known to exist today.
3. Take the kids to The Zone located at the WISC. The Zone is a great indoor play area that includes Clip N Climb – indoor rock climbing, an indoor playground, laser tag, a laser maze and redemption games. The Zone often has specials for families on Sundays.
4. Explore art activities for the whole family. There are several locations for hands on art in the County including Artfully Yours Art Studio and Wine & Design/Art Buzz Kids.
5. The Comedy Club of Williamsburg has comics each weekend, which is sure to cure the winter blues. Shows resume from a holiday break on Jan. 14, 2017.
6. There are various events that occur during the winter months such as 3^rd Annual Asian Festival at the Williamsburg Pottery and Kingsmill Resort’s Comedy Weekend.
7. For the adults, enjoy a tour and wine tasting at the Williamsburg Winery. The Williamsburg Winery is open daily (except for Christmas Day) and is a perfect indoor activity in the winter. There are a variety of tour and tasting options to choose from including a reserve wine tasting and a tour paired with lunch at the Gabriel Archer Tavern.
8. Shopping is a great indoor activity for winter months. Whether you want to pick up the latest trends at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets, shop at local boutiques or check out antiques and vintage finds, there are great locations for shopping in James City County.
9. Check out a movie at the Regal New Town Cinemas!
