James River Elementary School

Stream Restoration & Bioretention - July 2017

Scope of Work

This project, located in the headwaters of Grices Run on James River Elementary School property, consists of the stabilization of an intermittent stream channel to reduce erosion and the installation of a bioretention stormwater facility to improve stormwater runoff water quality. This project will stabilize the eroding stream and the bioretention facility will replace outdated infrastructure. The stream stabilization and bioretention facility will provide significant water quality benefits and contribute to meeting the County’s permit obligations for the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (CBTMDL) requirements.
