Covid-19 Drinking Water Update

The James City Service Authority’s (JCSA) highest priority is to ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees. It is important to know that COVID-19 has not been detected in drinking water supplies, and that standard treatment and disinfection processes are effective in eliminating viruses from the water supply. It is safe to drink water from the tap as usual. JCSA encourages customers to keep household plumbing and JCSA’s infrastructure operating properly by only flushing toilet paper. Disinfecting wipes and other items should be disposed of in the trash, not the toilet.

JCSA’s Operations Building located at 119 Tewning Road is open by appointment only. Customers should continue to pay their bills by mail, online or by telephone. You can also place your payment in the drop box located in front of the building. JCSA is following CDC and State guidelines in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, but we want to assure our customers that we are working to supply our customers with a safe and reliable source of drinking water and wastewater collection services.

We realize that the limited access to our building may be an inconvenience and thank you for understanding. Please contact Customer Service between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 757-253-6800 if you have any questions. If you are experiencing financial circumstances that have affected your ability to make a payment, please reach out to Customer Service. We will happily work with you to make payment arrangements to help you avoid a larger bill in the future.
