About the Board

Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for five-year terms. Its members also serve on the Chesapeake Bay Board. The Board is responsible for ensuring responsible development and conservation of designated tidal wetland areas within the County. Citizens interested in serving on a County Board or Commission can call 757-253-6609 or 757-564-2160 for information, or fill out the Application to Serve.

Meeting Broadcasts

Wetlands Board meetings stream live online are broadcast live on Cox Cable channels 88 and 48 in James City County and the City of Williamsburg. The meetings also rebroadcast on channels 86 and 46 on Tuesdays. Rebroadcasts are at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Past meetings are available on demand.
