Santa Calling, Free
Monday, Dec. 9, 5:45-8 p.m.


Register by Dec. 2! JCC Parks and Recreation is offering “phone calls from Santa” for children ages 9 and younger living in James City County and Williamsburg. Arrangements have been made with the North Pole for Santa and/or Mrs. Claus to personally call each child who returns their completed registration form by Monday, Dec. 2. Santa will attempt to call children between 5:45-8 p.m.; however, specific call times cannot be guaranteed due to Santa’s holiday schedule. Registration forms are available at the Centers, Satellite Services

Breakfast with Santa

Register by Dec. 6. You and your family are invited to attend our annual “Breakfast with Santa.” Enjoy a pancake breakfast buffet and a morning of “holly-day” cheer with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Holiday Skating
Sullivan Square behind Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave.
Holiday Skating in New Town begins Thanksgiving weekend! James City County, Town Management and Iron-Bound Gym are partnering again this holiday season to offer citizens and visitors another family-friendly recreational opportunity, a synthetic ice rink in Sullivan Square. Synthetic ice has a similar surface to ice, and almost anything that can be done on refrigerated ice can be performed and perfected on this synthetic ice. The skate rink operates Nov. 29 through Jan. 26. There’ll also be special school winter break hours. Skating is $7/person including the skate rental or $5 with your own skates. Season passes are available for $35/person and include the skate rental. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Winter Break 2013 - School Break Program (grades K-5)
Exciting activities including field trips, games, creative crafts and team projects are just a few of the great program features! Each day begins and ends with activities at Rawls Byrd Elementary School. Bring lunch daily. Registration forms and weekly activity calendars will be sent to parents before program start. Kid’s Holiday Chocolate Making (ages 6-12)

Young chocolate makers will learn to fill candy molds with chocolate and decorate Oreos, pretzels, marshmallows and other fun treats in time for the holidays. Women’s Mountain Bike Ride (all ages and abilities), Free!

Ladies, join the Eastern Virginia Mountain Bike Association’s (EVMA) Dirt Divas on a woman’s-only mountain bike ride! Explore Freedom Park’s trail system, meet fellow female riders in the community and learn the ins-and-outs of mountain biking. Racquetball (ages 10-13)

Teen Tournaments (boys and girls ages 12-19)

Private Racquetball Lessons (ages 14+)

Learn the rules and basics of racquetball in this fast-paced, fun game while in the comfort of a private lesson. We’ll teach stance, swing, serving and setting up to score. Spinning (ages 14+)
Sessions offered monthly on Mondays & Fridays, 9-10 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. New Pricing! The pricing has changed to match our other group fitness offerings!
$50; $45/month w/out Center pass for unlimited classes
$30/month with Center pass for unlimited classes
$55; $50/month with 10-Tab/10 class wristband with no expiration (no Center pass required)

The ultimate calorie killer! A 60-minute fun, athletic, cardiovascular cycling class! Start pedaling and let go as the music takes you on the ride of your life along various speeds and intensities. Go at your own pace and enjoy a group session full of motivation and sweat! Maximum nine participants/class. Riders must take the “Beginner Cycling” class before taking a regular spin class. Spin and Strengthen (ages 14+)
Sessions offered monthly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. Regular group fitness pricing applies.

Burn it up on and off the bike! Start pedaling and let go as the music takes you on the ride of your life along various speeds and intensities. Then strength train off the bike with bands and dumbbells for a full body workout in just 60 minutes. Go at your own pace and enjoy a group exercise session full of motivation and sweat! Aquatics


Learn To Swim
Open registration held Dec. 16-Jan. 11. After you have successfully passed a class, you can register for the next level during this two-week open registration period. If you’re unsure of your or your child’s swimming needs or level, attend one of the FREE swim evaluations on Tuesday, Jan. 7 or Wednesday, Jan. 8, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the James City County Recreation Center.
