James  City County Police ask for help to identify body

James City County Police are asking for help in identifying a body found Sunday, July 14 in Black Stump Creek off the Chickahominy River adjacent to the 2300 block of Bush Neck Road. At approximately 4:00 p.m., police received a call from a boater in the area advising that he had located a possible body in the water. County Fire and Police personnel launched a vessel and responded to the location. Once on the scene, officials confirmed it was a body.

At this time, the victim’s identity has not been established.  The subject is a white male, believed to be in his 30's with dark brown or black hair.  There are no identifying marks or items on the body. It is believed that the subject had been in the water for 3 to 4 days.  If the public has any information on a missing boater or missing person, please contact the James City County Police Department at 566-0112.
