Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, PC recently held a ribbon cutting to mark the 1,500 square foot expansion of their office located at 331 McLaws Circle in the Quarterland Commons Condominiums of Busch Corporate Center in James City County.

Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, PC’s services include the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of arthritic disorders, systemic autoimmune disorders, regional pain syndromes and osteoporosis. Their facilities include a therapeutic infusion center, bone densitometry, x-ray and diagnostic laboratory.

The practice’s rheumatologists, Christopher A. Hakim, M.D. and Elena F. Flagg, M.D., will welcome a third rheumatologist, Michael Laccheo, M.D., in June. Patients are also served by nurse practitioners Misty M. Mason, FNP and Mary Lou Vallone, ANP-C. The practice opened in 1986 and currently has 20 employees.

At the groundbreaking, Board of Supervisors Chairman, John McGlennon stated, “We are pleased that Arthritis and Rheumatoid Diseases PC has expanded and will service the area’s citizens with expanded healthcare options in the County.”

The estimated capital investment for this business expansion project exceeds $189,000. Additionally, the James City County Office of Economic Development is assisting Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, PC with Virginia Enterprise Zone Incentives provided through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
