James City County is pleased to announce that the Anheuser-Busch Williamsburg brewery will be opening its doors for public tours this summer for the first time in nearly 20 years, giving guests an inside look at the company’s time-honored brewing process. Anheuser-Busch receives the most calls from beer lovers, specific to the Williamsburg brewery, requesting tours.“We are extremely excited to open our doors to residents of the Greater Williamsburg area for the first time in 20 years. Previously, many locals visited and share fond memories of both the samples and the monorail ride. Our staff is excited to share the changes over the last two decades and open our doors to locals and the many tourists who visit the region as well,” said Jeffrey Scott, Senior General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch Williamsburg Brewery.Tours will take place on June 1 and select Saturdays and Sundays June 2-Sept. 2. The tours are available on a first come, first served basis. Those interested are strongly encouraged to book in advance by visiting budweisertours.com. Tour dates are June 1-3, July 7-8, Aug. 4-5 and Sept. 1-2. Times are 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday dates will also have a 6 p.m. tour.The tour, which lasts 60-90 minutes, provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at the art of brewing Budweiser. Highlights of the tour include visits to brewing, the lagering and finishing cellars, packaging and a sample directly from a finishing tank for those 21+.Throughout the unique experience, guests ages 21 and older will have an opportunity to sample Anheuser-Busch products and visit a pop-up gift shop to find something special to commemorate their visit to the brewery, including Virginia-specific attire and other Anheuser-Busch souvenirs.The tours cost $25 for guests ages 21 and older and $10 for guests ages 13-20. Guests under the age of 13 are not permitted to join the tour.The Anheuser-Busch Williamsburg Brewery opened in 1972 and brews beer enjoyed by residents in Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky and Georgia.
