Spring Break Camps

James City County Parks & Recreation offers full and half day programs, camps and classes. Please note the registration deadline for all activities.  

REC Connect Spring Break Camps (ages 5-10)
Full day camps for ages 5-10 featuring fun trips, games galore and outdoor activities! Drop off and pick up at your registered spring break location. Sign up for one or all of the camps! Bring lunch daily (unless otherwise noted). The registration deadline is Friday, March 31, 10 a.m.

$35/day; $30 for JC/W residents
Catch a flick and food at the Movie Tavern in Williamsburg! Lunch included.

Enjoy a morning experiencing unique and fun attractions at Ripley’s, then catch the Mad Science Show over at the Williamsburg Library Theatre. 604060-A

Challenge yourself to a round of miniature golf at Pirate’s Cove and then enjoy a sweet treat at Dairy Queen. 604060-C

Take Flight
Thursday, April 6, 7 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Enjoy a trip to the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton. Check out their cool exhibits, learn about space, and watch a movie at the IMAX theatre. 604060-D.

Enjoy all the great outdoors has to offer. Try your luck with crabbing at Chickahominy Riverfront Park and celebrate the end of a great spring break with a cookout!

Spring Break Special Interest Camps
Spring Break Art Escape (ages 5-10)
Monday-Friday, April 3-7, 9 a.m.-4  p.m.
$130; $125 for JC/Williamsburg
James City County Recreation Center
Discover your own artistic talents and interests while exploring various art and artists. No day will be exactly the same. You’ll develop an understanding of different mediums while working with charcoal, watercolors, air dry clay and more. The registration deadline is March 27. 204120-A

Horse Care Camp (ages 9+)
Tuesday-Thursday, April 4-6, 8:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
$190; $185 JC/W resident
Stonehouse Stables
Learn the daily routine of feeding, handling and barn chores in a large boarding and lesson barn. After taking care of the horses each morning, students will have a group riding lesson. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes, and bring water bottles and lunch each day. The registration deadline is March 27. 204120-B

Spring Break Sports Camps
WJCC/CAA Basketball & Track/Field Clinic (ages 7-12)
Tuesday-Thursday, April 4-6, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Pitch, Hit & Run Baseball/Softball Skills Clinic N’ Competition (boys and girls, ages 7-14) Free! New!
Friday, April 7, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Warhill Sports Complex
Come out and get some tips from the Warhill High School Junior Varsity Baseball team on how to improve your techniques, then compete in the three areas of competition for an opportunity to move to the sectional competition! Preregistration is recommended. 504930-B

Days of Discovery Spring Break Camp (for youth, teens and adults, ages 5-25 with disabilities)
Monday-Thursday, April 3-6, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
$105; $100 for JC/W residents
Norge Elementary School
Experience FUN, arts and crafts, gym games and much more!
A typical participant:
· has a mild to moderate disability
· can independently or with verbal cues, feed, bathe and toilet
· is able to function successfully within a 1:3 staff to camper ratio
· able to adjust to changes in routine/environment with relative ease
· has the ability to effectively communicate needs either verbally or with a communication device.
