James City County Logo

The Board of Supervisors, during their Jan. 3 organizational meeting, voted unanimously to change their meeting schedule to incorporate one business meeting and one work session per month with new start times. The changes are effective Jan. 24.

The Board will continue to hold their meetings the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. The first monthly meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and the Board will conduct County business including public hearings, Consent Calendar, Board Considerations and various public presentations. The public comment section at the beginning of the meeting will remain and no longer have a 30 minute time limit.

The second meeting of the month will start at 4 p.m. at which time the Board will hold their monthly work session. Those sessions will include a variety of discussions on staff reports, studies, budgets and projects. Should the Board need to include Consent Calendar or Board Consideration business, those items will be added to the work session as part of the Board’s agenda.

The new schedule will begin at the 4 p.m. work session on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The James City Service Authority Board of Directors (JCSA BOD) will meet at 6:30 p.m. as scheduled. The JCSA BOD is anticipated to move future meetings to the second Tuesday of the month beginning Feb. 14.

The Board’s 2017 calendar plus speaker forms for public comment and public hearings can be found here.
